Questions from Readers
Knee Popping Bad?

Before we begin, please check out the printed edition of my Condensed Flexibility Routine.

Today’s Question

Is it bad if my knees pop when I squat? Should I be concerned?

Answer

Knee popping is very common. You’re not the only one struggling.

For example, here’s an old video of me and my knees popping halfway through!

It’s a condition called crepitus that can happen in any number of joints throughout your body.

It is usually completely harmless, so it isn’t something you should worry about.

However…

If the popping causes pain, that’s not good! In that scenario, a doctor would be your best friend.

But to reiterate, no pain… no problem! Keep moving and improving.

If you found this helpful, you’ll love my knee mobility follow-along.

Movement of the Day
Full Range Squat

This movement improves ankle, hip, and squat mobility while building strength through a full range of motion.

Watch the demo here.

How to Do It:

Stand with a comfortable stance and squat down as low as you can. Pause briefly at the bottom, then drive through your heels to stand tall. Repeat for 5 reps.

Tips:

• Use a natural stance width
• Let your heels lift slightly if needed
• Move slowly and stay in control

Many of these exercises are in my complete flexibility plan.

Myth-Busting
Running is the best form of cardio.

Just focus on getting your heart rate up high. You can do that with any other exercise as well. Dancing, hoping, skipping, swimming, biking, you name it, all are good.
