QUESTIONS FROM READERS
DESK WORK RUINED MY WRIST FLEXIBILITY?

QUESTION:
Hello David,
I struggle with wrist flexibility and can’t do push-ups with my hands flat and arms near 90 degrees. Could years of desk work have caused this, and is there a way to improve it?
Best,
Ilan
ANSWER:
Hey Ilan!
You're definitely not alone—wrist flexibility issues are super common, especially for those stuck at a desk all day. Your wrist’s flexibility is not a lost cause.
The key? One or two stretches won’t cut it long-term. You might feel a temporary difference, but without the right approach, things usually tighten back up fast.
Solution: Treat it like a workout! A mix of active and passive stretches, plus proper recovery, will get you real results.
I made a 5-minute follow-along wrist routine perfect for this—try it 3 days a week with at least a day of rest in between. Stick with it, and you'll see progress!
STAY FLEXY,
David

MOVEMENT OF THE DAY
STANDING GOOD MORNING

How to perform it:
Stand with feet hip-to-shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and core engaged. Hinge at the hips, lowering your torso while keeping your back flat. Stop at your maximum range without losing posture. Push your hips forward to return to the start.
Watch me perform this exercise here.
Why it helps:
It stretches and strengthens the hamstrings, glutes, and lower back while reinforcing proper hip movement.
Pro Tip:
Start with a shallow hinge if you're new to the movement and increase depth as flexibility improves.
