I Wore a Weighted Vest and Stood All Day

Before we begin, Progression: A 12-Week Plan from Intermediate to Advanced Flexibility is launching.

What Happens If You Wear a Weighted Vest All Day?

So, what was the first thing I noticed wearing a 25-pound weight vest all day? Well, I thought my shoulders would be sore, but after 20 minutes, I forgot I was even wearing it.

Then, a few hours later, my feet started aching, even though I was barefoot in my home office. It turns out that adding weight while using a standing desk is a sneaky foot workout!

By the end of the day, I expected to feel like a Crab Walk World Champion or at least an anime character shedding their training weights and unlocking superpowers… but nope. No instant transformation. Just a strong urge to sit more than usual, which isn't like me.

Next time, I'll test the vest on a hike. Standing all day is okay, but I'm interested in seeing what happens when I really put it to the test. Have you ever trained with a weighted vest before?

Overall, the weighted vest definitely made my feet ache, highlighting the importance of footwear to manage daily weight and protect your knees, hips, and back. Strong feet matter; if you’d like, check out my flexy shoes today!

David

Movement of the Day
90/90 Switch

This movement improves hip mobility, builds rotational control, and supports healthy knees.

Watch the demo here.

How to Do It:

Sit in a 90/90 position with both knees bent. Keeping your torso tall, rotate your legs to the opposite side as smoothly as possible. Repeat for 10 reps.

Tips:

• Keep both knees bent at 90 degrees
• Stay tall and avoid leaning forward
• Move slowly and with control

Many of these exercises are in my complete flexibility plan.

Myth-Busting
MYTH: If something hurts, just stretch it.

Stretching is a great tool for improving mobility, but it isn't a one-size-fits-all solution for pain. The right approach depends on what's causing the discomfort.
